The registration tables open at 8:30 a.m. at the Food Court area in the malls. The walk will start at 9:30 followed by refreshments. Offline pledges can be turned in the day of the walk or mailed to the lupus office prior to the walk.

FUND RAISING TIPSS 1. Start now! Set your goal and develop a personal message. Tell everyone the reason why you are walking to raise money for lupus. 2. Send your e-mail to those in your e-mail address book but don't forget other possible donors. There are many people who you do not contact online but may want to support your efforts. 3. Keep your sponsor sheet with you and keep extras at work or in your car. You never know when you see someone who is a potential donor. The main reason people do not give is because they were not asked! 4. Remember to update your donors after the walk- let them know how much you raised and how much money the Lupus Alliance raised as well. 5. Post your sponsor sheet at your office if they will let you. You can also send a message through inter-office e-mail if allowed. 6. Check and see if your company gives matching funds. 7. Set a goal to ask one person a day for a pledge- don't forget your physicians, pharmacist, hairdresser, parents of your kids friends, and all your relatives! 8. Share any additional ideas you might have with your fellow walkers by e-mailing us at info@lupusupstateny.org and we will pass it on!

TEAM TIPS 15 TEAM STRATEGIES 1. Set a goal. 2. Let co-workers know about the walk by using your office e-mail or make up a letter to distribute inter-office mail. 3. Ask your company to sponsor your team by providing T-shirts or hats for that Challenge another office or branch. 5. If someone in your office or their family member has lupus, walk in their honor. 6. Place posters in employee break room, mailroom, copy room etc. 7. Have a sign up sheet and post the names of those who are walking so they can get recognition. After the walk have a team photo placed in the company newsletter. 8. Ask your company if they will match the money raised. 9. Ask people who sign up to ask their family and friends to walk. 10. Encourage team members to contact family, friends, business associates, and anyone they see in the course of their day, to become a sponsor. 11. Have a fund raiser at work so those who can’t walk can participate (i.e. raffle, dress down day). 12. Get incentives for the employees to raise more money. 13. Have a pre-registration day at your office so everyone can bring in their money and registration forms to you. Then you can bring it to the walk. 14. Tell everyone about the walk at each meeting you attend. 15. START NOW!! Be creative and share your successes with everyone.
